This lamp was just what I was looking for. Great color choices. Doesn't take up much room on my nightstand,important. Bendable neck is perfect for pinpointing exactly where I need the light.

Within a matter of a month or two the entire bottom fell off, not because the screws wouldn't hold but because the plastic where the screws went in completely crumpled into dust. Now there was nothing to hold the inner workings inside the lamp. No place to put a screw and if you tried to glue or tape it that didn't work because the lamp got too hot so everything melted off.. If you picked the lamp up by the base of the neck the whole thing would come right up out of the base. This lamp was not abused.....I've been using a sewing lamp similar to this one for 35 yrs. This one was just a piece of overpriced garbage.

Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I wanted an orange gooseneck lamp that was affordable but good quality. I use this in a bedroom/office. I have not had any problems with it. It illuminates very well. Granted, I don't use it on a daily basis but I think it is sturdy enough to use every day. I haven't had to change the bulb but that may be because I don't use it every day. Overall, a great value for someone who is looking for a desk lamp without breaking the bank.

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
