This review is a little premature. I inspected the light and turned it on but have not actually taken it home and *used* it in a reading situation. It's very pretty; construction is solid (metal and heavier than I imagined); light seems sufficient. Head adjusts up-and-down and also swivels. Paint a little chipped but not enough to send back. Switch is inline in the cord. Price reasonable. I like it. Image doesn't do color justice. (no assembly required)

Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Attractive and distinctive, yet inexpensive. Lightweight and easy move around to different locations but seems sturdy. Small footprint.
